Receives incoming material and prepares materials for shipment while following shipping practices and procedures and transportation routing, schedules and requirement
§ Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
§ Determines method of shipment
§ Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers
§ Follows shipping practices/procedures and transportation routing schedules and requirements
§ Operates a forklift
§ Maintains a safe and audit-ready work area
§ Works within guidelines of Department of Transportation for hazardous shipments
§ Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
§ Supervises the Shipping/Receiving staff and oversees daily work during absence of the Supervisor
§ Performs other duties as assigned
